The view of city rooftops motivated him directly. Josep Maria Cabayol, has gone progressively fixing our gaze on the effects of light on the surface of buildings and, especially, in the rich variety of different shades white, some soft colors that go with it.
knowledge of the island of Ibiza, around 1976, was for Josep Maria Cabayol a personal discovery that has provided the subject preferences for the painting. Since then he has focused mainly on structural parts popular with shades of white or clear. In a way similar to how he discovered the landscape of Ibiza, on a trip that he discovered in Morocco. Since 1995 he has made several trips with the purpose of admiring the houses and clusters of buildings with a predominance of white facades of some areas of the country - with such Xauen, Rabat and other, with careful observation of detail, to take notes and annotations, which have inspired good part of the work of recent years.

Going forward in time, at different times has created compositions of fruit and studies on the surfaces of glass objects, and the effects produced by light on reflections and transparencies.
has deepened in recent years especially in the execution of works within the issues already described based on drawing up more accurate observation of the structures and color shades on the surface, looking for more realism. From his study, the richness of forms, estruttura, shades of colors on the pumpkins, the pomegranate, the citron, the sea shells on the table surface that sustains them, etc ... has inspired a good set of achievements. Josep Maria
Cabayol tries to devote to painting several hours a day, without hurry, trying satisfaction in the study of the subject of the execution, but slowly developed.
