FIAT Melfi, Judge cancels redundancies of the three workers

A sentence that shows how the democratic struggle of the workers have nothing in common with the sabotage, the company is now returning to the table to discuss rights and workloads
Cancelled by the employment tribunal the dismissal of three workers at Melfi, two of which entered the FIOM CGIL. "Anti-union action" for which the judge ordered the immediate reinstatement of the three in their workplace. The decision had been taken from the 13 and 14 July last year following a protest, during which, had been stopped a truck carrying robotic equipment to workers who had decided to continue working.

On 8 July the company had suspended three employees first and then arrange for their dismissal. A measure that had been aroused by the strong protests of workers strikes and the occupation of the roof Venosina port, an important monument in the center of Melfi, which had risen on one of three professors.
A "large" ruling that returns "the dignity proper to the three workers unfairly dismissed. Too many have so far spoken in error or sabotage, now must apologize to the workers and also to FIOM. Said Maurizio Landini, FIOM CGIL Secretary General, a double satisfaction according to the union leader "because it is first demonstrated the will of FIAT and anti-union because it is confirmed the importance of the status of employees in a time when the government announced it take to put my hand. " But the sentence continues Landini, "should give pause to even breath because the story showed how the attempt to escape from a crisis canceling contracts and laws do not lead anywhere, it 'the company will' employees."

According to the Secretary General of the FIOM Basilicata, Emanuele De Nicola, "the ruling states that there was part of Fiat's will to suppress the struggles in Pomigliano d'Arco and Melfi and 'give a lesson 'to the FIOM. "The sentence - adds De Nicola - demonstrates that the democratic struggle of the workers have nothing in common with the sabotage. We now expect apologies from those who have referred, beginning with institutional representatives or representatives of employers. " "We hope - said the leader of the FIOM Basilicata - the Fiat is back at the table to discuss issues that are of concern to workers, beginning with the rights and workloads."
